"Gobbler's Knob Nightfall"
Original Expressionist Acrylic on Pressed Panel, 30" h. X 46.5" w. by Laurie Wilt Walker
Gobbler's Knob Orchard in McAlisterville Pennsylvania is the inspiration for this piece. When I was just a bit younger, I recall riding horseback through the orchard, barely outpacing the sunset to get home. In the springtime, the trees are in bloom and at dusk, it's quite a sight.
This is meant to be expressive of the feelings and images I hold in my mind of that experience. It's a dark, large image that creates a moody impact, but has a softer side with the rosy reflection of the sunset off the apple blossoms.
This painting will be on e-bay beginning November 2, 2006, 10:45 PM PST Click on the image above to follow this auction!
